The Resilient Pupil training week has been absolutely invaluable to Year 6 in our school. The skills that the week has given them has prepared them brilliantly for the challenges they have ahead; such as starting comprehensive school.
The process of explaining why we were doing certain activities and how our brains work when we do the activities was delivered on the pupils level and helped them understand themselves and their emotions even better. The pupils confidence grew massively over the week and I was very proud of how they all jumped at the challenges they faced on the Thursday (rock climbing and gorge walking day). The feedback the children gave at the end of the week shows just how much they enjoyed and how aware they were of the skills they developed during the process. I can’t thank the Call of the Wild team enough for giving the pupils opportunities they wouldn’t have been able to have anywhere else, and I know this week will be one the pupils will remember for years to come! I am now looking forward to developing the skills the pupils have learnt even further to help them grow into well-rounded individuals.

The resilience programme was an excellent and beneficial experience for Year 6 at Ysgol Tirdeunaw. The programme highlighted to the pupils how important mental and physical resilience is, as well as working in a team and solving problems in a systematic and calm manner. Pupils learnt to work together even if they disagreed, they tried to find a solution as a team.
Both children and staff had an incredible amount out of it. The theoretical and practical experiences encouraged everyone to understand what being mentally tough is and how to bounce back, persevere and show determination during setbacks.
As always, the delivery of the programme is of the highest standard from the staff at Call of the Wild – Engaging, knowledgeable and inspiring. Diolch

Personally, I was most impressed with how the week was run. I liked that you started with a baseline on Monday so you and the children could gauge where they were. I thought the week was mainly going to be just team-work, confidence building type activities, but I loved that throughout the week you taught them skills and spoke to them about how to be resilient and gave them tips on how to improve themselves. It was great then to see the children putting these skills into practice. The range of activities suited the age of the children and they were all engaged throughout. It was clear to see by the end of the week that all the children had ‘grown’ in their journey of being more resilient. Thank you again for giving the children fantastic experiences last week.
